New: Lights, Camera, Connection: Create Quick Videos for your D2L Course (Online Webinar) .25 PGU’s.
September 17 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Adding a personal video message can increase instructor presence and engagement in both online and face-to-face courses. In this one-hour session, faculty will learn two easy ways to create and share videos in D2L. We’ll explore the built-in D2L Media Library for quick webcam recordings such as welcome messages, announcements, and weekly updates. Participants will also get an introduction to Microsoft Clipchamp, a more robust video creation tool that allows screen recording, basic editing, captions, music, and polished instructional videos. By the end of the session, you’ll be able to choose the right tool for your goals and confidently create videos that connect with students.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Record and share a webcam video using the D2L Media Library.
- Upload and embed videos within D2L course content.
- Create a simple screen-recorded video using Microsoft Office Clipchamp.
- Apply basic editing features such as trimming, captions, and audio.
- Select the appropriate video tool based on instructional goals and available time.
