SSC Federal Accessibility Training for Staff and Faculty (Online Webinar)
April 14 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Beginning April 24, 2026, a new federal accessibility mandate requires that all state and local government digital content (including websites, mobile apps, PDFs, documents, emails, slide decks, forms, videos, and online services) must fully comply with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. This requirement applies to South Suburban College. To help the campus prepare, the SSC Accessibility Taskforce has requested that the Teaching and Learning Center provide basic training.
This hands‑on session will introduce faculty and staff to the built‑in accessibility features within Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, to ensure that documents, presentations, and communication are accessible to all learners and colleagues.
Additionally, we’ll dig into the nuts and bolts of making instructional material accessible as well. You’ll learn how to apply universal design for learning (UDL) principles to your writing, documents and media, along with showcasing tools available to help you make that possible.
