LABS: How to Engage Students with Lab Kits (Vendor Webinar)

This session will explore how lab kits have been implemented at Wytheville Community College for anatomy and microbiology courses. The lab kits have been very successful.

The kits allowed professors to meet hybrid and online students at the beginning of the semester in person. The lab kits have been an integral part of bringing students together and engaging students in an online environment.

Some students have reported that their young children now want to be scientists. Some students that have met through weekly zoom sessions have paired up in person to complete their rat dissection.

The lab kits have also brought students together from diverse backgrounds and have created a camaraderie and collaboration that has been immediately noticeable.

The lab kits and the rats in the lab kits have created a real buzz! The students also immediately upon picking up their kits began posting videos and pictures on social media of their lab kits. The kits have been impactful!
