Illinois Community College Online – Accessibility – Breaking Down Barriers (Self-Paced Online Course) (.25 PGU)
February 17 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Attend ILCCO’s online course covering accessibility topics for Illinois Higher Education Educators. This course is an initiative of ILCCO to create advocacy and awareness in creating a more inclusive culture on higher education campuses across the State of Illinois.
In 2021, ILCCO hosted a professional development series entitled “Breaking Down Barriers” which was highly successful. In turn, the Accessibility Committee has used those resources to build this course, a micro-credential, to help further the understanding of how to create a more inclusive culture on your own campuses.
The course is intended to provide a blueprint on how your institution can develop a timeline on how to create an inclusive campus. This course can benefit many types of audiences in higher education including administration, faculty, and staff.
Topics covered include:
- Accessibility Course Design for your LMS, which includes D2L
- Web Accessibility
- Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
- Editing Documents for Accessibility
- Electronic Media Access
